LEH Guitars Releases their Latest 4-String Bass at the 2019 NAMM Show
Brooklyn, NY: January 21, 2019—LEH Guitars is thrilled to release their new 4-String Bass at the NAMM 2019 show in Anaheim CA.
World class construction with a bold design: not for the faint of heart! Visit the Nordstrand booth (4240) to experience the new LEH Guitars 4-string bass.
LEH Guitars is proud to announce their new flagship 4-string bass. This instrument features an offset alder body (chambered) with a maple burl top, 21 frets, a hand-carved maple neck, a copyrighted 3-knob slider preamp design, Nordstrand Audio NP-4 and Bigman pickups, a Nordstrand Audio 3-band preamp, custom hipshot and gotoh hardware, and a Pat Wilkins finish.
Not a novelty: the first thing you’ll notice about the LEH 4-String is the unique 3-knob slider preamp. At the root of the system is a 3-band Nordstrand Preamp, modified for boost only with three Alpha brand sliders. “Using sliders is my way of making it easier to visually dial in your eq,” notes Lisa Hahn,”It cuts down on knob clutter and lets you instantly “see” your sound.” The bass also features a stepped heel allowing players full and comfortable access to the upper frets.
“The feedback on this bass has been amazing,” says Hahn. “Players have used it for everything from rock to slap and the sustain doesn’t stop.”
The 4-string joins LEH’s current crop of 5-string basses, which all use the same slider preamp and offset styling. “I spend a lot of time making sure that the tonality of the woods work together and that the neck joint is tight and perfect. It doesn’t matter how cool your bass looks if everything isn’t just right under the hood.”
About LEH Guitars: Since 2004, Lisa Hahn has built instruments for many of the world’s top touring guitar and bass players. She currently manages the Sadowsky shop and continues to mentor up and coming builders.
