Can't find the words to describe how awesome the bass is… Looks gorgeous… Fret board is absolutely beautiful. Great feel to the neck. Feels like an old-friend/bass I've been playing for years. Have now had about 4 hours with the bass, either through an amp at low volume, or with headphones. It feels great under the hands.… And the sound is glorious! Reverse P is doing exactly what I hoped for - coupled with the 70’s placement at the bridge, the B-string is very articulate…. I’m also thrilled about the clarity for chords and double stops. Overall, a great amalgamation that bridges two critical continuum: clarity/warmth; delicacy/authority…Color me highly satisfied!

I'm THRILLED with the instrument, I've got 3 or four favorite pickup blend/tone knob combinations I've been working with that give me the diversity of sound ... I've been having fun with the EQ too— Final piece of feedback: I've spent years avoiding the 7th fret on the G string where multiple basses I've owned have a dead spot-- obviously not always achievable but I'm convinced people can see my cringe when I play it. Last night, I realized-- this bass doesn't have a dead spot there! Then I set about looking for one and couldn't find it. Fantastic!

I’ve only gotten to play it for a few minutes so far but holy sh**. This thing is insane and the color looks amazing! Very happy with the ebony board. I love that little bit of top end rasp it seems to get. That was a huge thing I was going for with this! The neck is insanely comfortable and I love how rounded the edges feel. I’ve always loved the faders, and when I first got the bass, I thought they were an aesthetic choice. But over the years of playing it I’ve realized how valuable they are. When you’re onstage and the lights are in your eyes and the bass doesn’t sound the way you want it to, you can twist EQ knobs, but you have no idea where they are landing. Having a tactile element to the EQ is life changing. It’s like, wow, Ellis solved that entire problem.
